Reuben Wilson of Ponderosa Ceramics

Reuben started making ceramics his last year of college in 2019. When the pandemic hit his school let him borrow a wheel and take it home with him during quarantine where he spent his time improving his ceramics skills.

This time spend making pottery connected with Reuben much more than what he was studying, and upon graduating he decided to try to make a business of his art. Reuben then started Ponderosa Ceramics out of the basement of his parents barn. In 2022 Reuben moved himself and his business to Spokane Washington onto his brothers property. Here he continued to make ceramic art and pursue a small business.

In the summer of 2023 Reuben got married and put his business on pause to move with his wife to Bend. He took a few months off of pottery before recently joining Mud Lake Studios as the new studio manager in March. He as been thrilled to have a space again to make is pottery where he can be a part of a thriving ceramics community.

Reuben’s work can be found in the Mud Lake Studio storefront.
