Pumpkin Carving Workshop: All Skill Levels

Get in the Halloween spirit and carve your own Forever Pumpkin! Add the flair, witchy pizzaz, and spooky bits you have always envisions on a Jack-o-lantern.

This session will give you the tools to carve and paint a clay Pumpkin. Leather-hard* pumpkins handmade at Mud Lake Studio will be provided, along with carving tools, colored slips, brushes, and underglazes. Reuben will give a short carving/painting demo at the beginning of the session. Sample pumpkins will be displayed to show colors and carving examples. Through out the session, Reuben will be available to help anyone with questions or guidance.

Once your Pumpkin is completed, Reuben will fire and glaze them. Pieces will be ready for pick-up in about 10 days. **If pieces are not picked up in a months time they will be donated.**

*Leather-hard: Clay is not bisque fired yet, and is still somewhat damp. The clay can be handled without warping, and can be carved without breaking.

$60 per Pumpkin (additional pumpkins can be purchased at $40 at workshop. ex: if you are making 2)

Age: 18 and up, 17 and under with Adult supervision

About the instructor:

Reuben started making ceramics his last year of college in 2019. When the pandemic hit his school let him borrow a wheel and take it home with him during quarantine where he spent his time improving his ceramics skills. This time spend making pottery connected with Reuben much more than what he was studying, and upon graduating he decided to try to make a business of his art. Reuben then started Ponderosa Ceramics out of the basement of his parents barn. In the summer of 2023 Reuben got married and put his business on pause to move with his wife to Bend. He took a few months off of pottery before recently joining Mud Lake Studios as the new studio manager in March. He has been thrilled to have a space again to make is pottery where he can be a part of a thriving ceramics community.

Cancelations with a full refund must be done no less than 72 hours before the workshop start time. Refunds cannot be given to cancelations less than 72 hours before the workshop. Thanks you for your understanding.
